Ever since we first met, we always knew we wanted to travel the world together

We both come from New Zealand. A tiny little island country at the bottom of the world.

After packing up and moving our lives to Melbourne Australia, it was only a matter of time until we would be gallivanting around Europe or back packing through Asia.

It’s funny how sometimes life has other plans.

When we found out that we were going to have a baby, we thought we would be cancelling our travel plans for the next 18 years.

For the first few months after Theo was born, we were 100% focussed on learning how to be parents.

Little by little as we started working out what the heck we were doing, we started to think.

Did we really have to put our travel dreams on hold for the next two decades?

After lots of late night Googling and planning, we decided to do it. We booked our first trip as a family.

We threw ourselves in at the deep end with a two week trip to Japan.

Everyone told us we were crazy to be traveling with a baby.

But it ended up being one of the best decisions we ever made.

We had our fair share of challenges on the way, and we learnt that travelling with a baby is definitely not the same as when you’re carefree.

That’s when we decided to start this website. Our goal is to share everything we learn on our travels to make it easier for other people to take the plunge and go on amazing trips with babies and young kids.

Technically we should have called this website “Wandering Cub” but we wanted to future proof it just in case.

And it just didn’t sound as good without the “s”.
